Bali Reef Cruise: Enjoying Lembongan Island

Bali reef cruise with Bali Hai Cruises brings you away from the busy mainland to enjoy quieter Lembongan Island. You will enjoy this southern island above and below the water through scores of water activities, as well as making a cultural tour along the traditional villages and enjoying delicious meals.

The new vessel Bali Hai II departed from Tanjung Benoa Harbor at 09:15 a.m. Bringing passengers for the Bali reef cruise program, the ship provides us with whole day long to spend, on and off the Lembongan Island. The prospect is good: we have the air-conditioned rooms at the hotel transfer.

We have our morning tea and snacks too. But as soon as the Bali reef cruise program was officially started with the catamaran sailing off the harbor, it is as if our mind drifts away with the waves toward Lembongan Island. It turned out that we got what we have expected.

The catamaran moored at the pontoon specifically designed for the Bali reef cruise, just off the bay at Lembongan Island. Some passengers started to the locker and in a minute they have headed to the 35m water slide. Others picked their diving boards or snorkeling gears or engaged with the preparation for the banana ride.

When lunch time came, we board the catamaran to have our international buffet lunch. But our Bali reef cruise activities at Lembongan Island are far from over. Some passengers followed the tour guide along the country trek. They were on village excursion where they meet smiley villagers who offer them to rest for a while at their traditional houses.

Others chose to enjoy the crystal clear undewater scenery at the bay of Lembongan Island. The fun was over only after the crew of the ship called us back. At 04:15 p.m. we sailed back to Benoa Harbor, bringing the memorable enjoyment of the Bali reef cruise with Bali Hai II catamaran.

Guests will dine aboard the vessel with live music entertainment while the ship sails the relaxed course around Tanjung Benoa Harbour.

The 35 meters Bali Hai II Luxury Catamaran departed from Tanjung Benoa Harbor at 05:45 p.m. and was scheduled to be back to the harbor again at 08:45 p.m. During the three hours cruise, we knew that we would the best Bali sunset dinner aboard that catamaran.

The sun was setting in a bright procession when the started our Bali sunset dinner cruise. The breeze was cool, the waves are mild, and the sounds of the sea were endless. We sat on the deck or stood on the rails and watched as the sun went down on the far horizon.

The beauty of the sunset made us hungry. As soon as the announcer said our main Bali sunset dinner event was ready, we headed to the table and took whatever we our plates could take. There were the oriental foods, local Balinese cuisine, western meals, and so much more.

With our stomach full, we sat at indoor seating at the second deck. With Bali sunset dinner cruise operated by Bali Hai Cruises, we were also allowed to enjoy the bar at the second deck. Some of us chose to go to the top deck to watch the twinkling stars.

Others chose to watch the live cabaret show. With all those luxuries, it was almost unbelievable that we could get them for only AU$60.

Bali Elephant Ride: Night Safari

Bali elephant ride can be a great alternative for your vacation after you have explored the top attractions of the Island of the Gods. The huge animal is tame and understands human so it is safe to take a ride of their backs and take your route along the Taro village.

We know that Hindunese Bali has Ganesha, the god of knowledge who manifests in the shape of an elephant. Now, is it impolite to ride the back of the manifestation of the god? From the tour guide we know the answer: Bali elephant ride does not violate any religious teaching.

Thus we can rest assuredly that we will not insult the local people. However, some of us may wonder about safety. The logic is as follow: the operator of Bali elephant ride of course has taken necessary measures to make sure that the animal will not go wild and harm the adventurer.

Alright, with religious consent and safety guarranted, what we will get from Bali elephant ride? The first thing to expect is the experience of sitting on the back on such a huge animal. How would it feels? Will we feel like the Rajahs in India who often travelled on elephant? You’ll never know until you try.

The Bali elephant ride is performed at nightfall. The trek is around the traditional village of Taro. The formal name is Safari Under the Stars. Why is it called “Safari”, anyway? Well, you remember the way tourists and adventurers travel in Africa? Their journey is called “Safari”.

And we will do just what those African adventurers do. The trail is specifically designed so that we must not worried about getting lost. There is a different trek for the day-time safari. But with the evening Safari, the Bali elephant ride will enable us to witness the curious Elephant Talent Show at dusk.

The forest is designed so as to present the real forest where the huge animal live. As our Bali elephant ride is performed during the dinner time, you will also have a four course dinner. The dinner itself is a memorable experience as the location is at the Pachyderm Palm Grove, a dining venue situated by a lake.

Cruise in Bali: Dining at Aristocrat, Evening

Taking a cruise in Bali is a good alternative in enjoying the island. With the 6ft catamaran Aristocrat, operated by Bali Hai Cruises, you will have a memorable experience as you will dine amidst the sea breeze and perpetual sound of waves, completed with live musical entertainment. All with reasonable pricing.

When the idea struck me, I was able to see soon how impressive it would be. We have been in the island for some times. We have explored all major attractions – things that will put legitimate stamp for your vacation in the Island of the Gods. But a cruise in Bali?

We have eaten our breakfast at the cool Bedugul, our lunch at Legian, and our dining at the romantic Seminyak. But Bali Hai Cruises promises a cruise in Bali specially designed to present memorable fine dining and I thought I should give it a try.

And now we find ourselves, I and three of my friends, sit on the dining set aboard the Aristocrat catamaran and swaying with the rythmic waves. We really are taking the cruise in Bali offer and I think it deserves our appreciation. The evening sea breeze is cool. The horizon on the west promises a bright sunset.

Once in a while we sip our cocktails and canape amidst our lively conversation. One of my friends said he will remember this cruise in Bali as it makes him wonders how he would ever put the pork correctly as the vessel sways perpetually and affects the movement of his hands.

The singer is singing good songs while we wait for our meal. Sometimes we join in the singing. On this cruise in Bali moment, I almost believe that the voice of the singer is an inseparable part of the sound of the oceans as it mingled harmoniously with the sound of the moving water.

And when our meals finally come, we savor the foods and left nothing on the plate while the vessel takes its way to Nusa Dua comfortably. When the meal finished and the catamaran turns to the direction of the mainland, we know that our cruise in Bali will soon be over.

As soon as we arrived at the air conditioned hotel transfer, we know that we want to try it again next time we visit the island.

You can look at the pricing for the
cruise in Bali with Aristocrat at Bali Hai Cruises as the pricing is available by request. However, as always, Bali Devasha can provide you with lower rates and faster arrangement for the event. Send us an inquiry at devashabali@gmail.com and we will respond as soon as possible.

Kintamani Volcano Tour: Mt Batur

Kintamani Volcano Tour brings the wonders of the Island of the Gods, one of the most notable among which is the great Bali volcano, Mt Batur. For around 8 to 10 hours in one day, the guide patiently shows you other wonders along the route as well: Batu Bulan Village, Celuk Village, Mas Vilage, some optional places, Mt Batur itself, Tampak Siring, and Tirta Empul.

Mt Batur, great Bali volcano
It was roomy enough in the air-conditioned SUV. The guide of this Kintamani volcano tour sat beside the driver. There’s only one person beside you in the second row of the passenger seat. The third row was occupied by three other persons, talking about the mythical and geological history of the great Bali volcano.

This Kintamani volcano tour car was stuck in a crowded street in the middle of Denpasar, the biggest city in the Island of the Gods. The guide uneasily explained that you can’t help it. The route was necessary to reach the main destination. And you and the other travellers in the car have agreed indeed that in order to see the great Bali volcano directly you will observe whatever the guide would say – as long as you can see Mt Batur.

You were listening passionately to the guide’s explanation about the crowded street. The island has changed and became a melting pot where local Balinese cultures and cultures of different localities in Indonesia met. Contradictions and conflicts often rose but the progress of the local as well as the settlers too.

The guide added the international cultures as well, which was the very reason why you didn’t see local woman with bare breast anymore – like what have been protrayed by Walter Spies in one of his famous paintings. The island indeed has changed, but the guide said there are still things that are intact amidst the big changes.

Two of the three calderas
The great Bali volcano Mt Batur stands almost at the centre of the island, soaring between 1267 and 2152 meters. While it is often mentioned as one entity, it is in fact consisted of three levels of calderas. The second caldera, around 120 to 300 meters lower than the first caldera, hosts the famous Batur Lake.

The lake runs 7.5 km long and 2.5 km wide. It is considered the spring of all water ways in the entire island. Thus local people erected a temple near the lake, called Pura Ulun Danu Batur. You hear the Kintamani volcano tour guide explained that Danu means Dewi or goddess in the local language.

Batur Lake
Below this massive body of water, lives boiling lava that constantly trying to find a way out and in doing so sending small rattles across the island. Between 1804 and 2005, the Mt Batur has erupted 26 times. The Kintamani tour guide explained that the biggest explosion occurred betwee August 2 and September 21 1926, which sent the lava down to the local village as well as its sacred temple – the temple was rebuilt not long after the the great Bali volcano has calmed down.

The comfortable SUV left the crowded streets of Denpasar and was heading toward Batu Bulan Village. You and the other travellers spent some times here watching the unique Barong and Kris dance. When the travel was continued, you see the other wonders like Celuk Village, and Mas Village – you have opted to rule out the optional places.

When travelling home from the great Bali volcano, you were tired but your mood was heightened. You still can remember vivildy the scenery of the big lake of Mt Batur. But you didn’t mind when the Kintamani volcano tour guide invited you and the other travellers to take a look at the wonderful Tampak Siring Palace and Tirta Empul.

It has been a 10-hours of real sightseeing.

Professional instructors in this southern peninsula are ready to help you test your skill. If you are a first timer, they will rush your adrenalin with their challenging yet safe sets of equipment.

You sensed the sea even when you had just entered the entrance of the harbor where you would start your island water sports adventure. Travelling south, to the direction of the harbor and the sea, you saw upright trees lining along the straight road with dark green mangrove at the background. Further south, the dark mangrove started to lighten up and eventually opened to the bright sky.

The shore was less than two meters distance from the road that led to the island water sports operators. At some intervals of the lining trees, you saw people sitting on the tidily-arranged rocks that border the shore, attending their fishing rod patiently. They were not local fishermen. They came here on motorbikes to fish. You saw their motorbikes, of the latest productions in the country, parked along the edge of the road.

You stopped for a while when a smiling fisherman rolling the string of his rod: you could not see the fish but you were sure he has got it.

For a moment, you forgot about the island water sports that would give you your own adventure. Glancing east, you saw three island water sports vehicles at the distance, flashing on the beach on high speed. You felt your heart beating faster than before: soon you will be on one of those vehicles, showing off your skills. You recounted your plan: in this island water sports venue, you would show your friends your expertise in parasailing.

In any other island water sports venue in the world, you would want the parasailing. At 80 meters over the surface, you loved the feeling of mastering the height even only for four minutes and only for one round – how you always wanted to fly again. But you know that you would not get stuck with one adventure only. And you were happy that today you would have many options to try: Jet Ski, banana boat, snorkeling, scuba diving, glass bottom, water ski, sea walker, wake board, and rolling donut.

Castaway Cruise: A Bali Tour Experience

Castaway Cruise Bali Hai Cruises is an effort to re-evoke the free-of-stress live environment and renew the energy of anyone who joins the tour. The Aristocrat, a 64ft luxury sailing catamaran, will bring you to Crystal Beach, a tropical, remote island south of Bali Island.

It is a quiet noon in Crystal Beach. You are swaying in your hammock, eyes closed and one foot in the sand, half-sleeping, half-daydreaming of anything. You hear the faint sounds of the Castaway Cruise Bali Hai Cruises crews working with laughter and chatters. But almost all the time you only hear the perpetual sounds of the waves.

Under water scenery
Someone calls you from the direction of the sea. You hate if it is someone from the Castaway Cruise Bali Hai Cruises telling you that the one-day tour is over. But the calling keeps on coming. You eventually open your eyes lazily and see your friend coming out of the water, still with the goggle dripping the gleaming water in his eyes.

He waves at you. Suddenly you are not sleepy anymore. Suddenly you have, almost instinctively, reached for your own goggle lying under the hammock. And suddenly you find yourself snorkeling with your friend in the crystal-like water. Sometimes you take a solitary dive to talk with the colorful corals and the various small fish.

Oh, it is really a castaway. You are far away from the buzzing main land of the well-known Island of the Gods, further away from your stress-packed, overwork-filled hometown, farther -- as the poet Pablo Neruda would say -- from anything. And back from the snorkeling, you will not want to part from the volley ball and your friends.

Or you want to trace the route to meet with older women of the village, may be just to give them a smile for which the women will respond sincerely, or to sit with them and knowing what they are doing. And in the sandekala, or the evening, you want to enjoy the blessing of the Gods for the people who are making their offerings.

When you are returning to the main land, you have relaxed and your energy renewed. Gone is your stress. And during your journey back, you look to the west and see the sun sets in a gorgeous procession like the closing of a colossal drama.
